The energy weapon build bosts a lot of advantages against most other builds. To top that off, the delayed explosion after the initial hit also applies status separately. The x5 isn't a crit damage multiplier, but a crit chance multiplier. with 20% base Crit Chance it will critical with every shot (x5 Crit Chance multiplier).
